HARRISBURG –Rep. Jill Cooper (R-Westmoreland) invites residents and business in the 55th Legislative District to visit her new district offices in New Kensington and Washington Township next month for open house events.
“Accessibility and availability are my highest concerns. I am excited to welcome all the residents from all over the district to join me for an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony,” Cooper said. “I really look forward to folks stopping in for some light refreshments and to learn more about the wide variety of legislative services that are available.”
The open house events are scheduled for:
• Thursday, March 2, 3-6 p.m. at the New Kensington District Office, Parnassus Professional Building, 356 Freeport St., Suite 100, in New Kensington.
• Thursday, March 9, 3-6 p.m. at the Washington Township/Export District Office, Donal Plaza, 105 Pfeffer Road, Suite 5, in Export.
Light refreshments will be served at both events. No registration is necessary and there is no cost to attend. In addition, officials from the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce will join Cooper in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Staff at both offices are versed in the procedures used by state departments and agencies and can assist constituents with matters such as unemployment compensation questions, Department of Transportation paperwork and assistance with completing a Property Tax/Rent Rebate application.
“My local staff has more than a decade of experience in working for state legislators,” Cooper said. “Their experience and skillset are extremely valuable and this event will give constituents an opportunity to meet them in person. I hope folks will stop in and say hello.”
The 55th Legislative District includes the cities of Arnold, Lower Burrell (part) and New Kensington; the townships of Bell, Derry (part), Loyalhanna, Salem, Upper Burrell and Washington; the boroughs of Avonmore, Delmont, Export, New Alexandria and Oklahoma; and the Municipality of Murrysville.
